Draw My Story: Social Media Experiment
We're always looking to stretch our creative muscles which is why in Autumn 2011 we recruited multi-award winning designer Lizzie Mary Cullen to lead us in an intense kind of social media experiment.
Starting on Wedneday 23rd November 2011 at 1pm, for an incredible 48 hours, Lizzie drew non-stop on our studio wall. The idea was to create a story illustrated on the wall, drawn purely from tweets sent in.
Each tweet would be a line of a story or a full sentence. As along as the hash tag #Drawmystory was used, they were considered for the wall illustration. We encouraged everyone, from all over the globe, to get involved - and they did!
Once launched, a flood of tweets came in, with a huge amount of publicity from Design Week to Digital Arts, and much of the local press interest. Even as far a field as Italy.
A live video feed meant anyone could see Lizzie in action, and many tuned in for the launch, the press event and the climax at 1pm on Friday the 25th November, where the story ended.
The legacy is a beautiful studio wall, and a great documentary video mapping the progress of the entire 48 hours. Enjoy.
